The Immersive City Town Hall

SESSION DETAILS

A illustrated map with orange border has three map pins on it, each next to a different part of the city. Turquoise mountains and clouds rise in the distance.

Inspired by large-scale civic discussions, the DIG will gather Saturday morning for a Fishbowl Conversation in the Kilstrom Theatre, a theatre in the round designed to engage the entire audience.

The Fishbowl format places a panel of participants and a moderator in the center of the stage. But unlike most panel discussions, in the Fishbowl format, anyone in the audience can “come on down” and tap out a participant and take their seat. This participatory format will allow us to dig into what it means and what it takes to build an Immersive City.

The conversation will explore all the sectors that can come together to make immersive possible in a city:

  • City government – arts districts, funding, zoning and permitting, city planning
  • Private/for-profit/business – real estate development, production companies
  • Non-profit organizations
  • Individual artists and arts, culture, and event workers

Expect a highly relevant and active conversation designed to inspire, delight and educate.

Fewer talks. More talking.

The Denver Immersive Gathering isn’t a conference. It’s a gathering. Whether you’re a Mile High local, flying in from one of the culture capitals of the world, or joining us from another city or town with its own unique landscape, everything we are doing at DIG is focused on you meeting other people, sharing ideas and connecting around the things that matter to you. So in addition to the lunches, the parties and the evening at Meow Wolf and the festival, we will have after-hours hang out events, games and opportunities for you to connect, network and share your story. Yeah, we see you. And we want the rest of the DIG to see you too.
