Show Synopsis
Mosey on down to Josie’s! In this immersive experience, take a seat at Josie’s Diner, an imagined retro cafe that brings people together. Get to know characters spanning from Gen Z to Baby Boomers, each with their own relationship to queerness and nostalgia.

Casting Breakdown

  • Gen Z (18-25): 1 F, 1 Non-Binary
  • Millennial (20’s/30’s): 1 M, 1 Trans F
  • Gen X (50’s/60’s): 1 M
  • Baby Boomers (70’s/80’s): 1 M, 1 F

Payment
All roles are non-equity. Actors receive a $200 base stipend + box office bonus.

Casa Bonita is an iconic Mexican-themed restaurant and entertainment mecca in Lakewood, Colorado. Known as “the most exciting restaurant in the world,” the category-defining concept is an immersive experience that features dining in the midst of a 30-foot-tall indoor waterfall, cliff divers, puppeteers, magicians, and a mystical cast of characters. Casa Bonita is celebrating its 50th anniversary of being a part of the Denver community with a fan-base that continues to grow globally.
 
CASA BONITA: IMMERSIVE PERFORMANCE SUBMISSIONS
 
CALL FOR IMMERSIVE PERFORMERS: ACTORS, IMPROVISORS, CLOWNS, ETC.
Casa Bonita is seeking experienced performers with strong movement and comedy backgrounds for its immersive cast. Applicants should be comfortable with improvisation, theatrical movement, and audience interactions. These performers should be able to convey emotion and storytelling to curate unique and charismatic guest experiences in both intimate and large-scale settings.
 
Role Requirements:
  • Ability to interact and engage with guests of all ages and an understanding of matching tone and content ratings
  • Theatrical training and/or experience in acting, clowning, or immersive performance
  • A sense of humor, body awareness, and the ability to consistently stay in character
  • An ensemble attitude that can work independently and as part of a team with a positive attitude

Pay Range: $20 – $25 per hour

Job Summary:
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our entertainment crew as Entry-Level Entertainment Crew members. As a crew member, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and successful execution of all live performances, events, and productions within Casa Bonita. This position requires excellent teamwork, adaptability, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with the Entertainment Stage Manager and other crew members to guarantee a safe and enjoyable experience for our audience and performers.
Responsibilities:
Greet patrons with a warm and welcoming demeanor, assist them with finding their seats, and provide information about the venue, event, and facilities.
Monitor and manage crowd flow, especially during peak arrival times and departures, to prevent congestion and ensure a safe environment.
Be aware of emergency procedures and protocols and be prepared to assist in evacuations or other emergency situations if necessary.
Assist patrons with special needs, including those with disabilities, by providing accessible seating and any required accommodations.
Assist in the organization, maintenance, and transport of props and costumes, ensuring they are in optimal condition for each production.
Help patrons with lost items, directing them to the appropriate personnel for assistance.
Keep assigned areas, such as the lobby, aisles, and restrooms, clean and tidy throughout the event.
Collaborate with fellow crew members to ensure efficient and consistent service, including sharing updates and instructions from management.
Report any safety hazards, disturbances, or concerns to the Theater Manager promptly.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong customer service orientation.
Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
Physical ability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift or move heavy objects. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Knowledge of the theater equipment is a plus. Spanish Speaking is a plus
Physical & Environmental Demands:
Able to stand for long periods of time and walk often at a brisk pace
Able to walk up inclines and stairs and down declines and stairs multiple times during a shift
Capable of sitting, stooping, bending, reaching, and lifting/carrying items up to 50 pounds
Able to work and perform job tasks in small spaces
Possesses fine motor skills and dexterity
Able to withstand temperatures typical within an commercial kitchen setting
Able to withstand noise levels typical of a high-volume kitchen
Able to perform job duties efficiently in lighting conditions typical of an commercial restaurant and commercial kitchen
Able to work calmly under pressure and at a fast pace, typical of a high volume restaurant and commercial kitchen
Capable of and at ease with engaging with the public, potentially encountering challenging behavior, infectious diseases, and service animals
