Analog Radioart
Denver sound artists wavi-savi
Drop in experience from noon – 7pm
Inspired by Radio Revolten, and the radio art futurists of the 1920s and 30s, this installation aims to pull analog radio away from the constraints of modern programming and format, and closer its spirited beginnings in artistic expression. Analog radio is about place, because it’s always there. Whether to link a community, to listen for hidden worlds, or to invite aliens or asteroids to join the party. Its the permanent, invisible, responsive fabric around and inside us. And we can play with it endlessly. In the process, maybe we’ll learn how it upholds mother nature’s mysteries. Or we’ll just make a bunch of strange noises. Challenge what you can imagine and create with Analog Radioart.
Porch Sitting
Julie Rada/Grapefruit Lab
10-minute experience for 1-2 people
Runs from 2:30 – 8:00pm
Sit with the artist for an unstructured conversation reflecting on our collective future that might begin with “I imagine…I wonder…I think…I feel…” Unhurried. Intimate. Share in periods of quiet moments of shared understanding or bursts of raucousness. Let’s sit together on the porch and watch the world go by. The Porch Sitting protocol was originally conceived by artist and academic Lois Weaver as part of her Public Address Systems.
